Ivy Leagues have purposefully not expanded class sizes for decades and driven a certain kind of striver parents insane. Your quality state universities have mostly kept up with the times.
I do think that university admissions in the US as constituted are a fucking disaster in a way that is specifically exploitable by reactionary resentment.
I have no fucking idea what to do about that short of massively expanding capacity and requiring threshold + lottery.
