The strogg guy was part of a skeleton crew left behind on Stroggos to keep the lights on since most everyone else slipgated to Earth to squeeze sweet, sweet stroyent from humans, and times were tough, stroyent had to be rationed, but lo! Humans reverse-engineered slipgate tech and counter-invaded!

In the context of knowing how the Vadrigar pick champions for the Arena Eternal, this strogg dying because he stood too close to the spinny-ring machine when our speed-running hero destabilizes it without knowing the spy is there means the Vadrigar understand the concept of comedy.

The Iron Maidens, the female humanoid Strogg with no pants and big boobs (as was the Strogg fashion at the time), guarding an ornate red and gold door as they turn around to meet you with their rocket launcher arms. A sweet Railgun headshot, nailing that little head on the Tank enemy as the spiral trail travels across a beautiful brutalist hallway adorned with a red carpet and flags, red orbs embedded onto the walls with the ornate Quake II logo embedded in silver. Wow, the Strogg really like Quake II, huh. A trapezoid reinforced door being blasted by red lasers, punching holes through it as red rays of deadly light pierces through the impenetrable metal, like butter. The entrance to the Strogg Palace, a large plateau of inclined pathways lit up by two small pools of lava, with a central entrance adorned by a purple crystalline hexagonal shape above it, as Bitterman pulls out the BFG10k, a slab of metal with exhaust pipes on the side, shooting out a green orb of light, emitting neon-green light rays as it connects every enemy on screen and drains their life force, ending in an exploding crescendo of destruction.

Bitterman finally arrives at the core of the palace, meeting face to face with the Strogg leader, a huge monstrosity made out of flesh and metal, looking like a devil with tubes coming out of its head, making it resemble a goat-like demon, its flesh stretched and impaled with techno-spikes on its back, with hands grafted with weapons and goat-like robo-legs stomping the ground. Our hero naturally pulls out the Hyperblaster and starts shooting at its cockles. His stature, ginormous. His hatred, immeasurable. His name... Jorg. He must be Swedish or something. If you thought the Swedes were the bad guys, you'd be wrong. As I mentioned at the beginning, there's a twist, and the twist is that the bad guy is none other than the French president Emmanuel Macron... well, his name is the Makron, but it's close enough. It turns out Jorg was a mech, being piloted by another mech, the real leader of the Strogg, the mighty Makron, which is this silly robot fellow made out of clunky yellow and orange armored parts, with his head literally just being the Railgun. He looks a bit confused, holding his hands wide open to his side like he either wants a hug or is trying to tell you he popped his pants. If destroying the leader of the Strogg wasn't enough, the final level has a destructible wall, leading you into a secret chamber filled with large black and white photos of the entire development team, with a peculiar red tinted photo of one "Brandon James - Design" looking kinda angry and ominous, as his mouth opens when you get close, vomiting bloody giblets that kill you on touch. Truly, the real demon lord and final boss of the game. And a hallway yonder leads you to another chamber with a large pool of water in front of the throne of a Strogg lovingly named Tank Pimp, sitting like Jabba the Hutt with a couple of Iron Maidens in his hand and at his feet, with two bloodied marines crawling and bowing at his side. Truly, the sexiest Strogg alive.

A bona fide train station with a Gunner standing in front of the window in the control room while a couple of Enforcers, space marines that have the least outward modifications aside from their chaingun hand, just strutting around like cartoon villains next to the white high-tech train. The Super Shotgun do what the Super Shotgun does best, completely eviscerating one enemy from extremely close range, turning it into a soup of blood particles and giblets while the railgun carrying Galdiator flinches back, feeling he might just be in a tiny bit of trouble. The Strogg Medic, a hunched over monstrosity with robotic demon chicken legs, a hyperblaster for an arm and a very angry face, walks around the poopy brown corridors of the capitalist industrial complex that is the entire planet of Stroggos. The Black Hole generator, a floating gravitational... thing, made out of three transparent yellowish rings, rotating around a common axis, just hovering there all willy-nilly out in the open for anyone to look at and possibly shoot with their very cool looking Railgun.

In the most 90s fashion possible, the game makes you pick up various spinning Compact Discs, possibly chock full of Strogg porn, which tears Bitterman apart because on one hand he's always open to new experiences but on the other, what if he gets so into it that he won't be able to find any more since he's on a mission to blow the whole thing up, so imagine being left with just one CD of this new thing you're into and you're stuck with that. That's why you commission artists with specific talents to make some more juicy Strogg porn. Support your talented friends! Looking out the window at the security control pyramid thing, covered in a dense texture of greebles and high-tech details, with a key slot in front, waiting for, you guessed it, the pyramid key. A secure room with a central tech-pillar rising from a tech-hole lit up by blue tech-LEDs, surrounded by red lasers that don't look too safe to walk through. The Super Tank, aptly named as the chunky torso on treadmills approaches you, armed with a chaingun on one hand and a missile launcher on the other, his barely human head with a breathing mask sticking out of the metallic murder machine for a very silly look.

In addition there is also 2 expansion packs where for fight Amazon, a not strogg guy but kind of a strog guy and a dragon which is weak to not being able to shoot at things behind it.

Then you get the Machine Games expansions which revamp to previous bosses as the main antagonists

1/10 (not to confuse people again, it's just how many posts there are in the thread, not my personal verdict on the game's quality 👀)
Bitterman, the space marine that serendipitously survives the crash landing of his orbital pod, sets out to do his part on "Operation Alien Overlord", a counter-offensive attack on the alien world of Stroggos, attempting to end the war that has raged on for so long, with a twist at the end. A sensible departure from the original Quake which ended up as a hodgepodge of themes and ideas wrapped in a Lovecraftian nightmare, the sequel attempts a much more coherent plotline of a stranded action hero rampaging through the many industrial complexes of the Strogg war machine, scavenging weapons along the way and trying to stay alive. Here we have our boy Bitterdude holding his pew-pew gun as he gets outside for the first time, looking at the brutalist architecture of the Strogg army, adorned with not-so-subtle Nazi-adjacent red flags with a white circle and cross in the center, a black bird-like logo adorning the center of the hanging flags as a lone Light Guard, a grunt with a metallic faceless helmet walks around under the Doritos orange skies. The Strogg value efficiency, using the fallen warriors of their enemies to assimilate them into their techno-warrior caste, like the Gladiator, looking almost like a robotic Minotaur with a human head, a bloody claw for a left hand and a rail gun for his right, doing a shot and missing our boy here as he pumps up his double barreled Super Shotgun. A bullseye shot with the Railgun, leaving a spiral trail of gray and blue soft particles, giving the trail a kind of a nice depth of field effect as the chunky Railgun flinches backward with the well known "psheeewwww" sound, blowing up its distant target. A large chamber with a single square opening on top, adorned by the Quake II logo on its rusty metallic walls, with a door at the bottom and a balcony up top, with a Technician, a flying vat of orange goo with a head inside and a gun underneath it, looking like a flying soda can, currently being shot at by Bitterman with the fast spinning Hyperblaster. Honestly if someone told me this is a screenshot from Quake III, I'd believe it, looks real nice!

The game has a lot of fun with tormenting and mutilating all of the surviving marines that joined the offensive on planet Stroggos, so naturally they all end up dead or imprisioned, like these three guys kept behind a red force field as two of the guys lie on the floor while the third is crucified on the blood covered wall, moaning stuff like "kill me" in a very intently Schwarzenegger sounding voice. Quake II also loves putting the player in situations where they can interact with the various machinery used to torment or process the body parts of the surviving marines, like this poor guy trapped in a hanging cage with a vat of lava underneath him, so OF COURSE I'm gonna press the button and see him scream in pain as he's burnt to a crisp. A slab with a human corpse inside a red brick-layered room with a large saw spinning above it while four Strogg grunts stand around and enjoy the show, the sick bastards. Bitterman, being a bit of a sick bastard himself, decides to join. An experimentation room with a metallic bed, holding a crawling marine on all fours as Bitterman just can't help himself and presses yet another button, turning on a red laser that moves across the unlucky soldier and turns him into giblets.
