Block grants are a scam that will defund public education.
Block grants means less money for public education, fewer resources for students, and no accountability when states shortchange kids.

Trump is kneecapping preschools so that he can pay for more tax cuts for billionaires.

Destroying Head Start means that working parents lose care, preschool teachers lose jobs, and kids pay the price.

This isn’t putting the future of America first.
The White House's budget proposes eliminating Head Start, an early childhood education program that provides services to low-income families.

Students with disabilities need the Department of Education. Cancelling their access and opportunity to thrive in public education isn’t efficient. It’s ableist.

This is a moral moment in America. Sitting on the Capitol steps with Leader Hakeem Jeffries this morning to discuss what’s at stake with Trump’s budget and affirm the need for collective action to protect Medicaid, food assistance, and other safety net programs. @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social

Imagine what could change if it were a #presidential #priority to advance the science of learning so all students are seen, served, and safe to learn in U.S. schools.

IMO that would be in our #national interest.

The most persistently dangerous thing for our nation’s students right now is our nation’s politics.

I remember way back when being a political science major in undergrad and learning about tacit consent. The idea ran true to my core; if you aren't participating, you are conceeding.

If you aren't helping, you are harming.

Without federal oversight, students with disabilities, English learners, and students from low-income backgrounds lose critical protections. We can’t afford to turn our backs on them. Speak out NOW. #SaveOurStudents #StudentsOverPolitics

The Trump administration is now proposing to completely eliminate Head Start.

That would be a Hard NO.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.
