#SubSat
To recap, Chinese spaceplane flight 4 released a subsat, 2026-024H, on Jun 21 and retrieved it (likely with a robot arm?) on Jul 12. On around Aug 28 it appears to have redeployed the subsat, and retreated several thousand km then executed a rerendezvous with it on Sep 10 and a recapture on Sep 13.

It has now been confirmed that the 58954 object is indeed the second (tiny) DRUMS target subsat.

I see the cause of the confusion: the subsat had the same name as the rocket debris.

It seems to not show up on SOCRATES anymore, so something got updated I guess

Among many tales in The Giant Leap is the often forgotten story of the Apollo 15 and 16 subsatellites left in orbit when the astronauts departed lunar space - and what these revealed about the Moon (Apollo 15 crew poses with subsat here) amazon.com/Giant-Leap-S...
