End govt subsidies for Musk.

Cost of extending ACA subsidies that Republicans let expire:

$30 billion/year

Cost of Trump's Iran War which Republicans have stood by and supported:

$47 billion

ACA enrollment begins today and premiums are up 15%.

It's not a question of what we can afford. It's a question of priorities.

It is incredibly fucked that my health insurance is going up $700 in two years (and I didn’t even get subsidies), and also this rapid and unceasing increase that is financially terrifying is #5 on my list of complaints.
I hear Dem operatives going on about how kitchen table issues matter. They do. But why the huge and disproportionate surge in black and Latino turnout? Surely it has to do with assaults on civil rights and immigrants. Democracy may not matter much to Dem operatives; it matters to lots of Dem voters.

In 2025, just 6 corporations — Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, Meta, and J.P. Morgan Chase — received $84 billion in tax subsidies.

That's 42% of the total tax breaks we tracked for 706 profitable companies last year.

cut spending then. Do it. Cut the fossil fuel subsidies, the handouts to tradies and landlords and expensive snobby schools. Cut the public spending on surveillance and weapons industries and the consultants and tech investment in human misery. Defund police.

I can understand some specific issues people have with Chinese vehicles (safety, subsidies, dumping, etc), but a blanket ban strikes me as exactly the kind of thing we object to in China's own behavior.

If capitalism is so great why do corporations need tax breaks, offshore accounts, exemptions, subsidies, grants, bailouts, legal protections, and trade barriers to survive?

Or, current subsidies for #FossilFuels are switched to #investment in a national #EV charging grid, and #subsidies for EV trucks, that actually REDUCES distribution haulage costs sharply. #auspol

Interest rate rises and the recession we don't have to have
My fear is that people have forgotten how terrible recessions are, and because of this we might be sleepwalking into one.

Oh, Elon. You really ought to be more concerned about the Democrats booting you off of corporate welfare by canceling your government contracts and subsidies, then prosecuting you for election interference
Guys we can't do SCOTUS expansion or DC statehood because those things worry Elon Musk. We don't want Elon Musk to worry, do we?
