This piece of mosaic for #MosaicMonday comes from a destruction deposit excavated as part of #SuffArch25 It probably comes from the base of the cold plunge pool which was remodelled at least four times during its use. Sadly, apart from larger tesserae cut from tiles, this is just about all we have.

One for #MosaicMonday A tiny fragment of mosaic in a layer of demolition material. It was probably originally from the base of a plunge pool which preserves some of the mosaic sealed under a re-lining of the pool with opus signinum.

Sixteen small white tesserae in four lines (of three, four, four and five pieces). Each tesserae is only about 1cm cubed. The scale on the bottom is a steel ruler with a mark every millimetre.
