if you're looking for the cause of declining good union manufacturing jobs over the last 50 years, domestic competition from right-to-work sunbelt states is a much bigger deal than foreign competition from free trade.

They all sound like Sunbelt boosters in the early 1970s, repeatedly insisting -- with just a hint of desperate anger -- that Tulsa is The City of the Future!
Each and every week there's a new post insisting that Twitter is "our national public square" or "the only conversation that matters" and every time it's written by by Some Guy I Only Know From Twitter and Haven't Thought About Once Since Leaving Twitter.

Sunbelt® Plum Perfect pushes out tons of intensely plum-colored, very double flowers with ease. Her foliage is healthy, shiny, and medium green. She performs very well in heat and humidity and has proven strong black spot resistance. Zones 5-9 by Nhu Tran.

All housing growth in the sunbelt is driven by this - giant McMansions 45 minutes from downtown in zero traffic

I love Pennsylvania because you'll find random towns in the middle of nowhere that are more dense and walkable than every sunbelt city

It’s startling how much more urban third-tier Canadian cities are compared to Midwestern cities in the US that once saw their competition as Chicago, or booming Sunbelt cities
One thing I’ve noticed here in Halifax is the amount of mid/high rise construction! So many cranes around, love to see it!

And many of them are replacing parking lots. Have also noticed lots and lots of parking garages.

Halifax in general is much more metropolitan than I thought!

Every Sunbelt state has a worse, cheaper Sunbelt state that the factory owners promise they'll relocate to if anyone tries to form a union.

Went down to watch my Alma mater JMU win the Sunbelt championship last night! Proud of the team and the organization. On a balmy 27 degree night. Lol even the goal post was frozen. Go Dukes

#SCOOP FROM AN ANONYMOUS INTERNAL SOURCE: Sunbelt Rentals is the only provider for HVAC and power equipment to Alligator Auschwitz, along with some moving equipment and the temporary structures. Sunbelt wants to keep it quiet, even internally--not many people in the company know about this.

*Extremely* interesting piece.
What if America’s red states are about to lose their cheap-housing advantage?
People move to the sunbelt for affordable homes. But it is getting harder to build there

Funny that sunbelt sprawl is dragging the US up!

We don’t talk enough about how sunbelt style suburbs where you can’t walk to the store even if it’s close are bad but NYC tristate area style suburbs with a commuter rail station and a walkable downtown are good.
