It has been an amazing @hypothesisfund.bsky.social retreat ending at a dinner at Tonnemaker Farm. I shared the findings from work we have been doing over the past year and heard so many other phenomenal awardees speak. Huge thanks to everyone involved and to my scout, @drkhaynes.bsky.social! 🤩

Flowers on Friday. If you ever wondered where sunflower seeds come from, the answer is evidently the Dakotas

The sunflowers at the Philadelphia Museum of Art still has a good amount of yellow, & the teal in the background is a lovely compliment. I've seen that one in person & love it.

With the sunflowers, that yellow has unfortunately also faded over time. So that also impacts how those look, depending on when the photos of them were taken.
That seems like a subject he loved, though, so I'm not surprised he did so many variations of that. But the postman...! Haha

The iMac G4's design was inspired by actual sunflowers, growing in Steve Jobs' garden.

Apple's rumoured HomePad reportedly borrows the same design language, to make the user the central focus.

I put my heart into this not my ego, I put my time in, not myself. I have mad so many mad because I made a space for them, I didn't take up space.

Tazmily gerberas are Hinawa's favorite flowers, after sunflowers.

🌻 Mature sunflowers face east permanently — they stop chasing the sun. Some growth involves knowing when to stop moving.

You’re lying down in a field of sunflowers, staring up at blue sky & white #clouds. Warm sun, gentle breeze. There’s something in the field with you. Something wearing white & a vaguely human form, that twists & dances in a way that drives men mad.
You close your eyes.

My neighbour's sunflower was looking more than a little sad 🙂 Time to bunch the seed heads together to hang on the wall for the birds 👍 #sunflowerseeds #sunflowers #birds

He Gave Us Sunflowers. We Gave Him a Diagnosis.
We remember the severed ear, the asylum, The Starry Night, the crows, and the lonely genius who supposedly painted masterpieces because he was mad. But that version of Vincent van Gogh has swallowed the artist whole.

We had a really nice time at HoneySpell Cafe's Journaling Night on the North side of Spokane tonight. I don't really know how to journal so I sketched a bit and gifted a couple of my little watercolors after I cut them out.

It's so pretty in there and my mocha was good!

Did you know? Sunflowers are used to assist in cleaning up after a nuclear disaster. They are hyperaccumulators, capable of absorbing toxic heavy metals from the ground and have been planted at both Chernobyl and Fukushima. [🎞️ thebrainmaze]

FOTD – October 2 – S if for Spiderwort and Sunflowers Really, spiderwort is a wildflower. Very few people intentionally grow it. In fact, as far as I know -- at least around here -- I am the only one. I love it for its deep blue color. For reasons best known to the color spectrum and our cameras, I have a lot of trouble getting these deep blue flowers to show up the way your eyes see them.

30 pine siskins descended on our sunflowers this afternoon, which is unusual. I think the drought has driven them to desperate measures. But they managed. 🦜🌿
