New story: my iPhone 18 Pro camera review, from someone who learned photography in a day.

One beach day, one ferry ride, a lot of sunstars and one accidental Interstellar shot. Plus the settings Apple still keeps locked (looking at you, manual ISO).

A beginner's review of the 18 Pro camera 📸👇

Caught the sun sneaking a starburst between beech trunks in this Franconian forest 🌲✨ Low light, deep green, pure magic. Anyone else chase sunstars through the trees?

Starfish - the terror of the intertidal!
But what of the other Echinoderms decimated by starfish wasting disease a decade ago?
Sunstars (predators that control other Echinodems) in particular have not reappeared.

Four images taken on Lucky Colour Film here in Toronto in March 2026. Image #3 is a double exposure.
📷 Nikon FE
A Canada flag flutters and sunstars emanate from behind the flag. A wide scene of people waiting for a Toronto Transit Commission bus. A blue mural and sign runs along the wall in the background. A double exposure image. The main scene shows a fruit market with a woman walking past holding a cane. Overtop of this is an image of a young man wearing glasses. A view of a street crossing. A do walker is walking five dogs, all on leashes, away from the camera and across the street. On the far side can be seen a corner store called Bloor Mini Mart.

picture of the interior of an old car, as seen through the windshield. on the left is an american flag tied to the sun visor, on the right are two fluffy dice stuck on the windshield itself. the car has white vinyl bench seats and a horn-ring steering wheel. The sun is hitting the windshield so that it makes a beautiful flare on the left side of the image, and it's the beginning of the roll which means the right side of the image is a little burnt red 1930s style convertible race car, with bright red paint and a dual white stripe going through the middle of the hood. the photo is taken with a very wide angle lens which changes the proportions. we can see some race stickers on the side of the car, the headlights seem to be bulging out of the front, and the car is numbered 98. It has a sign for AS Classic Engineering on the front. The background seems to be in a sort of warehouse. picture of what seems to be a 1940s Chevrolet sedan, with bright red paint and extremely bright chrome elements everywhere. The sun is shining on the car and we can see multiple sunstars from the reflections, as well as the glitters in the paint. The car seems to be under a tent and next to the passenger side wheel is a tent cable anchor

Native to Mexico, it thrives in full sun for the best color but tolerates partial shade, and it produces small pink or purple flowers in summer. This hardy, low-maintenance perennial is easy to propagate from cuttings and is drought-tolerant, though its sap can irritate skin and it's toxic to pets. gentle morning dappled light upon large teardrop shaped leaves almost precisely evenly divided with one side being lime green and the other side being a dark chocolate brown with purple varigation. The plant features large leaves with a mix of green and purple blotches, like the prominent red and green leaf in the image. It is a tropical plant that thrives in full sun and moist soil conditions. It typically grows to a height of 4-5 feet. When it blooms, its flowers can be a mix of red and yellow, depending on the leaf color from which they emerge. It is considered hardy in zones 7B and above, but can be grown in colder zones with proper winter protection.

A better sunset at the #bluebells tonight - this time at Dockey Wood, part of Ashridge National Trust, not far from me.

The double sun stars remind me of the Pink Floyd song "Two Suns in the Sunset" - I hope it's not a bad omen... 😬

A portrait orientation woodland scene with silhouetted trees and some bluebells. There look as if there are two suns about to set, but it's just the one, with tiny bits showing on either side of a tree, creating sunstars. There are some branches backlit by the sun, and some bluebells are too.

I don't incorporate sun stars into too many of my images... I find that over-use can make them feel a little cheesy or clichéd. But, every now and then, one just screams for my attention. #Nikon #Nature #Art #Ice #Sunstars #Manitoulin
