3 skeins of handspun 3 ply yarn in various shades of green. The yarn was spun from 3 different colorways dyed by Southern Cross Fibers in different greens ( Emerald on Falkland, Rainforest on Bond, and the green parts of Grazing, also on Bond). Supplemented with leftovers also in greens. The biggest bobbin of leftovers was Targhee dyed by Honeygold Acres in colorway OC29.

#SundaysAreForSpinning : I finally finished the yarn I had been working on since August. After washing, I have over 500 yards of chain-plied yarn. No wonder the spinning and plying took so long! I also spun up a bobbin for my next project, which won’t take as long. #Handspinning 🧶
A handspun skein of yarn. The fiber (80/20 Rambouillet Silk dyed by Fossil Fibers in colorway “Blanket Octopus” and yellow, orange, pink, purple, and chartreuse. I spun it end to end and chain-plied it, so it will be self-striping. A bit o er 500 yards of fingering weight yarn. A wooden spinning wheel bobbin with spun singles. The fiber (the February 2025 Melly Knits Blossom Sommelier club) was 70% East Friesian, 15% yak, 15% sari silk. The yarn has lots of blue and pink tweedy bits from the sari silk, but there are other colors in there, too.

It’s been a while since I did #SundaysAreForSpinning . I finished the second bobbin of grey Cheviot (I’m aiming for a 3-ply sock weight) and I scoured fleece yesterday and today. It’s the first time this summer that I’ve done any scouring. #Handspinning

#SundaysAreForSpinning : in order to get a 3-ply yarn out of 2 different fibers, I made my fist attempt at combination drafting. I didn’t do a great job of always drafting some of each fiber, but I think it still works. #Handspinning 🧶

A handspun skein of 2-ply yarn on a sunny yellow with some variations. Ir was spun from a batt I made from the February 2026 Quiet Sip blending club from Fossil Fibers. The theme was chamomile tea with honey and ginger. It had dyed (yellow and an almost peach color) and undyed Border Leicester locks, with some fun mix-ins including dyed mohair (yellow and green), flax (bright yellow), viscose (white), and sari silk (brownish gold).

Next to it is a skein of yarn made by plying the same yarn with purple thread. The thread can’t really be seen, but it gives the yarn a zigzag appearance in places. There are some small purple beads strung on the thread, but they are so small that they are not very noticeable in the photo.
