Superdomestiques, like Jai Hindley, are seen as luxuries only the most affluent teams can afford. For Primož Roglič, it will be a luxury he will have to do without if he is going to win this Giro.
How does the loss of Jai Hindley affect Primož Roglič's Giro d'Italia bid?

Eddie Dunbar and Fred Wright join increasingly ambitious Q36.5 Pro Cycling next year – are they the superdomestiques Tom Pidcock needs to level up to cycling's 'Big 6'? Dunbar and Wright are low-key yet potentially crucial investments for the ambitious second-division outfit

fucking superdomestiques and their martyr syndromes. Yo Seppie you remember how this put you in a recovery hole that took you a solid two years to dig out of?!

🔥🔥🔥

But seriously rouleur domestiques (unless your name is Tim Declerq) and even climbing non-superdomestiques are so underappreciated

To be fair, a lot of the riders aiming to ride conventional GC crashed/got sick/underperformed, there was a ton of attrition

But it is interesting for sure - also a difference to last year with the top 3 teams/superdomestiques filling up the whole top 10. Only Tadej and Jonas are the same from 2024

Yeah, while I’m not the happiest about it (since I think Matteo could win Tirreno) I also don’t think he’d be upset, necessarily - he seemed to work really well with Jonas in the Tour, and while ofc I can’t read his mind/riders tend to prefer leadership, a lot of superdomestiques don’t sing their-

It’s sacrilegious not to send Pellizzari to the Giro but maybe Tour instead as he could improve & would work.

Like I think the main difference between Bora and UAE/Visma in terms of being stacked is that UAE/Visma hired riders specifically to be superdomestiques, even QS did that with Landa.

he only really needs 1 really good or 2 good superdomestiques who can climb and widar fits that role. what he needs more is rouleur type riders to position him in the peloton, the issue is convincing those riders to give up their breakaway goals entirely (only for satellite riding)

Meh, half of the TdF top 10 last year was just superdomestiques. This Giro has a way higher ratio of punchy stages to hard mountain stages, the Tour has way more hard mountains. He’s also capable of good TTs like his stage 10 one in this Giro.

But who? 😏

Idk as someone who happily watched during the sky years, this still feels basically exciting. I don't think all hope is lost for Jonas' future more than I thought all hope was lost for pog in 2023 and I'm watching the best rivalry I've ever seen. We also have a GC w/ no superdomestiques which is fun

he would be allowed into a break given his usual calibre. So it also has to do with the level of control in the racing and how the leading team wants to play it, if the top rider wants to win maximum stages.

Minor GC racing in GTs maybe is different now with so many superdomestiques filling the-

Can anybody beat the 'Big 4' this year in a grand tour?

And what about in the future?

Here's a dive into how 'super teams' are poised to dominate for some time to come:

The super team stranglehold on grand tour racing means only superdomestiques can break the Pogačar, Vingegaard, Evenepoel, Roglič vicegrip.

it also pains me that all of the interesting young talent in the mens are signed onto the teams of the riders who keep winning, never get to see the development of the riders in races since theyre always superdomestiques

I guess that's what happens when you make the entire team out of superdomestiques

End of an era for the superdomestiques. The legendary 'Tractor' Tim Declercq and key Pogačar wingman Rafał Majka are both retiring. Two absolute workhorses of the peloton who will be missed.
