#Superwealthy
The supposedly-Ballooning Welfare Bill is, without any question or analysis, simply An Issue That Needs Dealing With. The actually-Ballooning Wealth Of The Already-Superwealthy, is not. Whyyyyyy

Is why I keep telling Reform fans that a Reform govt will be great for the superwealthy, just not for them. Xenophobia is a powerful drug, mind.
The Independent has released an "exclusive" on the "true scale" of Reform UK's overseas donations.

I've reported on this extensively for two years, but others have tackled it in various ways since Nick Sommerlad and I first broke the tax-haven links scoop in 2024:
www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
Most donations to Farage's Reform UK come from wealthy or firms in tax havens
Major sources of Reform UK party funding come from outside of Britain with many of Nigel Farage's leading donors having clear links to tax havens like Jersey and Monaco

going to disagree with you a little bit here mate, i believe there is a network of 100+ superwealthy right wingers who finance the whole project and network, including, but not limited to; media ownership, social media agitation, conservate legal schools, astro turf organisations, ai misinformation

This could be pitched as "closing a tax loophole" which is generally popular. This change would also be laser-targeted at a scheme that really only the superwealthy use. Even families with $10MM are unlikely to borrow against securities.

From the war in Ukraine to how we receive daily services, our government is handing over the power to determine our future to a few superwealthy techno-oligarchs.
Slowly but surely, the leading AI companies are creating a national self-governing structure to oversee their technology and its societal impact.

Not since the age of the robber barons have America's industrial titans wielded such sweeping power to shape society.
AI takes on great experiment in self-rule
The leading AI companies are creating a national self-governing structure.

Literally killed people. It’s the luxury mindset of the superwealthy. Being totally removed from consequences of decisions. Need in the very least a wealth tax.

we need solidarity to fight fascists and [all, but notably superwealthy] pedophiles

we need to recognize the roots of oppression and exploitation and dismantle the systems which sustain them

we need to build parallel systems which provide for need, with equity, inclusion, and justice

Well...the superwealthy would for the tax breaks and the cutting of any obligations they have for workers. Pregnant? Fired. Cancer? Sorry bro.

Why a useless $250,000 Roadster? Because Musk understands that in the future only the superwealthy will be able to afford anything, so that is the market he is now grifting to.

A 2-PART documentary on the views of a superwealthy straight cis woman on the rights of mostly poor marginalized gender-divergent people to whom she has no connection & no standing? BBC you are failing your people. When is the special on Mirian Adelson & her extra-special views on the Palestinians?

*Anything* but increasing tax on the superwealthy companies and billionaire ruling class.

The model proposed by the Swedish Left obviously gives much less revenue but focuses on the harm the superwealthy do so it has no downside. It brings in money *plus* its very existence is good for society

Many of America's superwealthy pay no taxes at all — even though they have more wealth than ever.
The Central Question of Power in America
The biggest question lurking behind the midterm campaigns is: Can we reverse the power shift that began four decades ago?

Yet again, the superwealthy don’t seem to grasp the facts that 1) their level of greed is horrendous and we are disgusted by them, and 2) there are more of us than there are of them.

"The Musk-Ellisons-Saudi nexus is the most troubling media trend of the moment. But they’re not the only superwealthy people participating in American media capture."

The members are exposed to so many of the superwealthy that w/in a short time in Congress they become convinced that a $175K/yr salary w/ platinum benefits (incl. trad'l pension after five [5] years) is living in poverty!! Most of them are so removed from ordinary life it's pathetic & grotesque..

it's just so extraordinarily rare to have comp packages with more than a 4 year horizon, which is why that's the typical tenure. but the insane growth in valuation makes all of these people instantly superwealthy with no reason to stay unless it's an amazingly fun time

Voters did not do that. They were bombarded with racist propaganda implying that brown people would no longer be able to come here if we brexited, so they voted for it but instead the numbers rose. It was the superwealthy, appealing to the basest natures of a bigoted country to save themselves tax.

Who voted the neoliberals in, in the greatest numbers? Who has benefited the most from successive neoliberal governments, apart from the superwealthy? There's no need to be so insulting just because you can't identify when something isn't about you.
Nice bit of ableism there, you are very rude. 👋🏽

#NigelFarage is part of a global malaise - helping to popularise policies and talking points at the behest of the superwealthy.

This does not augur well for democracy.
