UBI is unconditional and universal. We can build support for it by removing work requirements from any existing program and/or making any existing program universal and paired with higher taxes on those with higher incomes. When it comes to amount, I'd like to see any unconditional universal amount.

This👇. The implementation of UBI does not increase drug use, as some people have claimed. In fact, drug use falls because people often use drugs to self-medicate when life is stressful. Reduce the stress through UBI and drug use falls.
A common concern about universal basic income is that people will end up buying drugs with it but in study after study, abuse of drugs tends to go down when people are provided cash. Why? Because a big reason people abuse drugs is self-medication of life stressors.
