My cat ILY
A vertically composed, whimsical horror illustration centers on a large, wildly expressive cat surrounded by a crowd of bizarre cartoon creatures. The cat fills most of the lower and middle frame, staring forward with enormous glossy black eyes rimmed in blue, yellow, and orange. Its patchwork fur shifts between white, gray, blue, and warm orange. A pink nose sits above an open mouth filled with small pointed teeth, while long white whiskers and strands of colorful drool extend across its face. Behind and around the cat, odd creatures crowd together in layers. Some resemble distorted cats, while others are amorphous monsters with bulging mismatched eyes, dangling tongues, crooked teeth, horns, antennae, and elongated limbs. Splashes and drips of coral, turquoise, yellow, pink, orange, green, and blue scatter across the loose off-white background. Along the bottom, chunky hand-drawn lettering reads “THE ALL PART OF THE RAINBOW,” with “RAINBOW” rendered in large individual colors and dripping like wet paint. The combination of fine black ink lines, watercolor-like washes, exaggerated anatomy, and playful grotesque expressions gives the image the feel of an unruly illustrated monster poster.
