I seem to have settled on a #Plymouth Postcards theme for my current dailyish #art practice. Today I did a rather rushed #watercolour #painting of #SuttonHarbour. Lots went wrong: a flooded chimney, the colour and shading of the water, and much more. Yet, somehow it seems to have turned out okay...

The 1403 attack, was led by Sieur de Chastel, with 30 ships & 1,200 men.

Unable to attack #SuttonHarbour due to the defences, they landed on the beaches below Cattedown. Attacking Plymouth from the east, they burnt all the houses outside Martin’s Gate.

Landscape format: a woman sitting on a folding chair looking toward Sutton Habour; she has a shopping trolley to her right. The boats and buildings of the harbour are out of focus ahead of her. She may be painting or drawing. Taken on an Olympus OM2SP with 35-70mm lens, using Ektachrome EPP100 slide film, self developed in standard E6 chemical. "Digitized" using a JJC adaptor set.
