what this means to me personally: doing local cleanups, donating to local causes, calling reps, creating and attending community events/swapmeets/artist events, sharing food with my neighbors, carrying cash around for unhoused folks, organizing charity bundles, shopping locally where possible.

Many years ago, I picked up one of these Aston Martins from a market stall for £3. It was pretty badly mutilated, but after a bit of tlc and a few spares it looked amazing.

IIRC it found a few niche applications, so shouldn't be totally impossible to find at nerd swapmeets.
(I haven't got one of those, but do have a magnetorestrictive delay line memory. )

That's why we stopped collecting tbh ... cost and small child/travelling to swapmeets. We had a smaller 4 lane track on a fairly large custom built table, sadly not used the table in years, but took it to a couple of events many years ago.

It's great to get rid of stuff you don't want anymore AND you can take a bunch of new stuff home without spending money 💖 I've gotten a few of my furbies from swapmeets :3
