Later today, Ashton ‘H20’ Sylve (13-1, 10 KOs) and Joseph ‘Jo-Jo’ Diaz (34-9-1, 15 KOs) will step into the ring for their scheduled 10-round fight, hosted by MF Pro and streaming live on DAZN from Thunder Studios in Long Beach, CA. On Thursday, both fighters stepped on the scale to make tonight’s fight official. This is a crossroads fight for both fighters, and the oddsmakers have Sylve as almost a 6-1 favorite. Does Diaz have another big performance in him, or is this the one that forces him to think about his future in the sport?

What is at stake in a junior welterweight bout between Ashton Sylve and Joseph Diaz Jr on Friday at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California? The obvious is that it is a crossroads bout for both. Sylve, with a record of 13-1 (10 KOs), is at an unfathomable spot in his career compared to three years ago. It will also be his first hometown fight, as Sylve is from Long Beach. Diaz, 39-4-1 (15 KOs), has gone from a U.S. Olympian to a junior lightweight titleholder to start the decade to vaulting up weight classes and struggling for consistency.
