Ended up in the ER last night, I blacked out unexpectedly 3 times while on my SF vacation. TLDR nothing life threatening. I was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope and dehydration. Definitely was dehydrated and the vasovagal syncope can be caused by intense anxiety/ stress, which lately 100% an issue.🙏

TIL shock is a very specific term, apparently the correct one is vasovagal syncope! which is what happened to me when i heard the medical scissors cut into my scalp like a chef cutting into a raw chicken breast
well i got my cyst removed but i went into shock and puked and the doctor wasnt happy about it haha, my head fuckin hurts ; ~ ; twelve stitches total in my fuckin noggin

3. In simulations I took part in long before the Covid-19 pandemic, diseases with symptoms that triggered the human disgust mechanism - symptoms such as disfigurement, vomiting, incontinence, bleeding, and convulsive syncope - were most likely to cause people to avoid infection.

Syncope is defined as transient loss of consciousness due to cerebral hypoperfusion. Most syncope is not cardiac in aetiology, but cardiac syncope is a high risk subgroup.

Differentiating Syncope vs Seizure:
- LOC + loss of postural tone in both
- GTC movements often seen in syncope
- Tongue biting + incontinence can be seen in both as well
Post-ictal period is key. Brief confusion post-syncope but post-ictal = seizure
