now don't get me wrong, i prefer systemd over linux's old sysvinit. but if you format a partition and forget to remove it from fstab your computer should still start up without having to boot into rescue mode to manually remove its mount point. am i right fellas?

It's okay if you don't like systemd, but the rest of the world doesn't have to retvrn to sysvinit just because you hate systemd.

looking back at a lot of the systemd hate, it really felt so forced. i agree with almost all of the points that people against systemd bring up, but then they ruin it by suggesting we all return to sysvinit instead of actually trying to improve the systemd model

not liking systemd's implementation is completely fair, but like, at least make an init system that actually tries to be something more than just a reimagining of sysvinit or extensions atop it please and thank you
