3. It removes safety layers. I don't know that the plane had TAWS or a GPS-based terrain warning system, but there's a good chance it did. GPS interference keeps those systems, which are designed to prevent flying into a mountain at night, from working. 6/

Loss of GPS might mean loss of Terrain Awareness and Warning System and that could be a factor. But needing TAWS implies loss of situational awareness. Instrument Approach Procedures have terrain avoidance baked in. Deviation can be deadly.
