Because I moved midway through the year they are going to apply the taxrate for my new province retroactively to all the money I made in my previous province this is going to wipe out my savings. This is ontop of the many many many problems in my life and im going to lose most of my safety net.

I don't understand why Social Security funding is always debated in Congress. It's funded by a 6.2% payroll tax from workers & employers, + income tax on benefits & interest on investments. The taxrate hasn't changed much since the early 90s. Why not raise the payroll above 176,100? Why not 200,000?
