Just one more week, and #Halcon2026 is upon us!

My order of 40 softcover books of "The Old Sage", the first adventure of The Council of Gothmoor Cycle in #Valtetine, has arrived, so I will have those available for sale at my table in the local games developer room (room 608).

There are plenty of questions hanging over today’s book, not least of which is what it is actually about. Will it be more accurate than Hit and Run? is an obvious one. But the one everyone wants to know is whether it will have an impact on the election. Ultimately, Dirty Politics did not. Much of that campaign was whether you trusted John Key or Nicky Hager (or David Cunliffe, or Kim Dotcom ... the list goes on). Ultimately, voters stuck with Key, a man they liked and seemed to trust. If there’s one thing the last three years have taught us about Christopher Luxon it is that he’s no John Key. On Monday, Luxon said he doesn’t know who Hager is. He’s about to find out.

Great news!
I finished proofreading "The Old Sage", and uploaded it to DriveThruRPG.
Now I have to wait for the printer's OK, then I can order my proof print, and once that one has arrived and looks good, I can finally publish the new adventure!

For the adventure, enemies, NPC, and accomplishments needed to be adjusted for the group being able to level up.
I'm working on treasures right now, then I'll have to make sure the page layouts are looking good, and, finally, to do a last round of proofreading.

The screenshot shows a LibreOffice Calc table, used to calculate the XP Budgets for all monsters, NPC, and accomplishments in the adventure, in order to check if the characters will be able to level up as intended. All monster, NPC, tasks, and locations are smudged to become unreadable, to not give away too much of the adventure.

IIRC TCoG&L had some surprisingly deep themes about how your oppressor can have real affection for you, and you can even return it to some extent...but when it comes to the push, they're still the enemy.

I thought a LOT about that when I first read it.
