It's quite possibly my favourite collect, and I'm so mad that we almost never use or hear it because it's for the 26th of December when everyone is exhausted.

I want to thank you dearly because I searched a way to express, in a speech for tdor I know I'm gonna do near a lot of cis people, how we are not an other in the othered group

I almost always include the Collect for St Stephen's Day in TDoR services I put together. I just think the phrase "all our sufferings for the truth" resonates massively with the desire from trans people to just live our lives truthfully, even amidst the hatred the world gives because of that.

I won't punch you in the mouth but I will remind you that I am a #Transman of color & every #TDOR (Transgender Day of Remembrance), a day where we mourn our dead, I see that most of the victims are Black & Brown people.
They also look like me.

when actively doing stuff w/ groups I've been involved with we got some big pushback for including causes of death (which a lot of mainstream TDoR slides do include) and like, sorry, no you have to actually be aware of anti-trans violence killing people globally one day of the year

I am VERY tired so feeling a bit aggravated about a few things but reflecting on how I won't be able to go to TDOR this year, and it'll be the first time I've not done a vigil of some kind since 2021 but one of the things that drives me nuts about vigils is that people want to sanitise them so badly
