According to the federal Job Bank, 1083 employers in Alberta are currently looking to hire TFWs. If Alberta is the only province charging TFWs for health care, want to guess how many want to work here? Then again, maybe that's the point.

actually this makes tons of sense to me. young people don't want cheap labor on the market but are fine with skilled labour while older employers want TFWs for wage suppression

This has to be against our laws. Public health care (and education and other social services) is funded through income taxes and other tax systems. How can you add a premium to TFWs and their families while also assessing taxes? It’s just racist and xenophobic bs.

I get the frustration around temporary foreign workers (TFWs) taking up entry level jobs at places like Tim Hortons, which both exploits foreign workers with below minimum wages and exacerbates a youth unemployment crisis but this is not the same. Bus operators are not part of the TFW program (2/3)
