if you want a more relevant example with Thief Gold, using a full TFix install restores cut similar lines from Bafford's that play on *any* difficulty, which people have gotten so used to that when RoguePatcher first came out, players thought it was broken because they were gone

you can just play thief the dark project with tfix lite. it comes baked in with the gog version, even. steal the fucking game off the internet please

Even if you disable every feature here, TFix makes numerous mission changes anyway which are not reflective of the original design.

I'm probably going to pick up the remaster for my Switch 2. I already own Thief Gold on PC and if I really want to play it there I can always just play it with tfix. It'd be nice to have a console/handheld version of the game and I like how the switch version of SS2 turned out.

Literally there was a post making absurd claims about mgs to put thief on a pedestal including t1 being better because it has wasd controls & like... you played this game with tfix because thief 1 had x as go backwards, s for forward and w for run forward

i don’t think Thief: The Dark Project needs a remaster with tfix existing but if it means more people will play one of the two greatest stealth games of all time i’m all for it

I'm going to convince you and indoctrinate you with my video later but please play Thief 1, 2 and 3 now.
Though I'd recommend small mods for each.
TFix gets the first game running better on modern systems.
T2Fix does the same for 2.
Thief 3 Sneaky Upgrade does a lot of small fixes that add up.

Just completed Thief the Dark Project (Thief Gold version with Tfix patch). Loved it loved it loved it. Great mix of steampunk and creepy fantasy stuff. No handholding whatsoever, just explore and figure out your own approach.
Will absolutely be in my top favourite games =P
