1) No other film came close to my top TIFF spot like Park Chan-wook’s ‘No Other Choice’ did. I’ve been a fan of the director for many years, and would say that this is one of his best films by far.

‘Maddie’s Secret’ is so meticulously measured & impressive in what it achieves. John Early’s performance also elevates it so much — everything about it is perfection! It may be very niche, but it’s totally for me.

2) I honestly struggled with ‘Maddie’s Secret’ at first. John Early’s debut film is so specific & niche, I wasn’t sure what to make of it. Reviewing it in my mind, thinking about it, I was just in awe of how he pulled it off!

5 ) ‘The Sun Rises on Us All’ is an absorbing drama about a relationship after love. It’s anchored by raw performances, and is hauntingly beautiful. But, it’s not one I would likely revisit.
