Who needs a cinema when your friends are the show? An old Tiong Bahru Plaza hall becomes a VR arena, high ropes and airbag slide. Pre-sale is 20% off to 31 Oct!
Tiong Bahru Plaza’s Old Cinema Turns Into a 20,000 Sq Ft VR and High Ropes Park
**Xventure Singapore** , the new indoor adventure park from the home-grown company behind **Kiztopia** , opens on **20 November 2026** in the former cinema space at **Tiong Bahru Plaza**. If your group chat is already arguing about November plans, the cheapest moment to commit is now: pre-sale **Single Admission** tickets are **20% off until Saturday, 31 October** , before the discount drops to 10%. ## Ten Zones Where the Screen Used to Be According to Xventure, the park covers **20,000 sq ft** on the fourth floor of the mall, with **10 play zones** and **more than 30 challenges** that mix immersive multiplayer virtual reality (VR), physical obstacles and high-energy rides. The zones carry names like the Slide Park, Challenger Arena, Digital Play Zone, Obstacle Zone and Air Court. Taken together, that sounds less like a playground and more like a full afternoon out. It’s the first indoor active-entertainment destination the Kiztopia team has opened in Singapore. Its stated aim is to extend the appeal of play beyond childhood. For anyone who has spent years rotating between the same movie, bubble tea and café combo in the same few malls, a place built for climbing and sliding with friends is a welcome change of script! ## VR Your Friends Can Watch The headline act is what Xventure bills as **Singapore’s first MIRRA Arena** , a zone built around immersive multiplayer VR. The detail that sold us is the large screen that shows the live gameplay, so friends who aren’t wearing a headset can follow the action instead of standing around guessing what’s happening. That makes the MIRRA Arena our pick for bigger groups. VR has a reputation for being a solo, slightly antisocial hobby, and a shared screen turns it into something closer to a spectator sport, where the people waiting their turn get to cheer, heckle and plan their revenge round. _Who needs a cinema when your friends are the show?_ ## Eleven Challenges Up High, Then Glide For people who’d rather sweat than wear a headset, the **High Ropes Course** packs **11 elevated challenges** meant to test balance and coordination. Make it to the end and the **Air Glide** carries you through the park, which is a far more satisfying finish line than a flight of stairs. The **Slide Park** has three ways down. There’s a wave slide that rides a series of curves, an airborne launch that drops you onto a large airbag, and a Roller Ski Slide for anyone who wants to mix things up. If your group only films one thing that day, make it the airbag launch, since nothing else on the list promises a moment of actual air time. ## Win Prizes Before the Doors Open You don’t have to wait until opening day to get a taste. The **Xventure Pop-Up** runs from **9 to 19 November** , daily from **11am to 8pm** , at Tiong Bahru Plaza’s **Level 1 External Atrium** , and it has two ways to play. Artist’s rendering of the Xventure Singapore entrance _Guess The X_ gives visitors a chance to win prizes worth up to **S$500**. **The X Mission** sets endurance, agility and balance challenges, and finishing them lets you redeem Xventure merchandise plus a **S$10 ticket discount voucher**. The top 10 leaderboard winners will be named at the grand opening, and first place takes home prizes worth more than **S$1,000**. Artist’s rendering of the ropes course Of the two, The X Mission is the better use of a lunch break. A guessing game leaves things to luck, while completing the mission is what unlocks the merch and the voucher, so effort counts for something. It’s a smart warm-up for the real park, too. ## Opening Weekend and the Ticket Timing The celebrations run from **20 to 22 November** , with climbing wall challenges, timed competitions, Surf Slide photo moments and DJ sessions. If you like your first visit loud and busy, that’s the weekend to go. The ticket maths is simple. The 20% pre-sale discount on Single Admission tickets ends on 31 October, and from 1 to 19 November it becomes 10% off. If your group has already made up its mind, buy before Saturday. 🗓️ **Date:** Opens Friday, 20 November 2026; opening weekend runs 20 to 22 November ⏰ **Time:** Xventure Pop-Up runs daily from 11am to 8pm, 9 to 19 November 📍 **Location:** Xventure Singapore, #04-104/105 Tiong Bahru Plaza; Xventure Pop-Up at the Level 1 External Atrium 🎟️ **Pre-sale:** 20% off Single Admission tickets until 31 October; 10% off from 1 to 19 November 🎁 **Pop-Up Prizes:** Guess The X prizes worth up to S$500; The X Mission rewards of Xventure merchandise and a S$10 ticket discount voucher 🏆 **Leaderboard:** Top 10 winners named at the grand opening, with prizes worth more than S$1,000 for first place 🎧 **Opening Weekend:** Climbing wall challenges, timed competitions, Surf Slide photo moments and DJ sessions A cinema hall that once had everyone sitting still in the dark is about to have them climbing, gliding and yelling at a VR screen, and that’s a pretty good upgrade for a Saturday in Tiong Bahru. Check the Xventure Tiong Bahru Plaza page for pre-sale tickets, follow @xventuresg on TikTok for pop-up updates, and keep the Xventure website handy for everything else before the doors open on 20 November! **Photos and Visuals courtesy of Xventure Singapore.**

Melaka polls: PH banks on Gen Z support for younger candidates
MELAKA: Pakatan Harapan is banking on young voters, particularly first-time voters and Generation Z (Gen Z), to support its younger candidates in the Melaka election. Melaka DAP chairman Khoo Poay Tiong said the coalition's decision to field young candidates, including those from Gen Z, reflected its longstanding commitment to youth development and political participation. He said PH had demonstrated this commitment by lowering the voting age from 21 to 18 during its tenure in the federal government.

(Healthy Uncles who Network, drink Coffee, Learn and Exercise),旨在鼓勵 50 歲以上嘅男性關注健康同社交。

One Sunday, two Filipino bartenders, one counter. Edu Zamora flies in from Manila to take over Dirty Supper on 1 November, with sharing plates.
Two Cities, One Sunday: Dirty Supper’s Pinoy Takeover Brings Manila’s Edu Zamora to Tiong Bahru on 1 November
Mark **Sunday, 1 November 2026** in your calendar. That’s when **Dirty Supper** at Moh Guan Terrace in Tiong Bahru hands its bar to a one-day **Pinoy Takeover** from **12pm till late** , with Manila’s **Eduardo “Edu” Zamora** working alongside Dirty Sips head bartender **Arjay Guarin**. Chef Jaz will cook a spread of Filipino comfort food made for sharing, so the whole table gets in on it. _Pinoy_ is the everyday word Filipinos use for themselves and their culture, and the brief here is refreshingly direct. Two Filipino bartenders will put their own spin on Pinoy classics using **Ford’s Gin** , **Tequila Herradura** and **Woodford Reserve**. In bar-speak, this is a guest shift: a bartender from another city takes over your counter for a day. Since this one runs for a single Sunday, the window to taste Filipino flavours in a Tiong Bahru glass is short. Dirty Supper’s horned green demon will be watching over a Sunday guest shift in Tiong Bahru ## A Sunday Off the Usual Calendar Dirty Supper lives inside Hua Bee Restaurant. The restaurant describes it as a 90-year-old noodle house by day that turns into a grungy grill-and-whole-animal-cooking spot by night. Its cocktail arm, **Dirty Sips** , hides behind an unmarked door and works with chef-owner Peter Smit to turn kitchen trims into drinks. That’s why the menu reads like a dare: pickled shiitake, sourdough kvass, black garlic and honey. Kvass Me If You Can mixes sake with sourdough kvass made from trimmings of Dirty Supper’s signature sourdough ## The Home Team: Arjay Guarin Arjay Guarin runs the bar programme at Dirty Sips. According to his bio, he’s originally from the Philippines and has more than 13 years of bartending under his belt. Before Dirty Supper, he managed Millim Bar at COTE Singapore and led programmes at **Bar Rouge** , **Skai Bar** and **The Dempsey Cookhouse**. His competition record includes the 2020 DBWY International Online Cocktail Competition in Manila and top honours at the Remy Cointreau X ACCOR Southeast Asia Competition in 2019. Chef’s Water, a Dirty Sips cocktail, sits on a wooden table in front of the bar’s colourful mural The drink that tells you most about him is the **White Boy Negroni** , made with Ford’s Gin, micro shiso, pickled apricot and Vinho Verde. The menu says it won Peter Smit’s stamp of approval, even though Smit is no Negroni fan. Anyone who can win over a Negroni sceptic should have a blast bending Pinoy flavours around that same house gin! ## Edu Zamora Flies In **Edu Zamora** is director of mixology at **Newport World Resorts** in Manila. There, he leads the drinks programmes at **The Whisky Library** and Sonata Lounge. He’s no stranger to Singapore either: his career runs through Shangri-La Singapore, Smoke & Mirrors and Mandarin Oriental, with a stint in Macau’s hospitality scene along the way. Edu Zamora adds the garnish to a whisky cocktail behind the bar at Dirty Supper His bio describes a bartender who prizes precision and restraint. ## Three Bottles, Pinoy Classics The two bartenders are reworking Pinoy classics with three spirits: Ford’s Gin, Tequila Herradura and Woodford Reserve. Ford’s Gin is already at home at Dirty Sips. It anchors both the White Boy Negroni and the **Pickled Lemon Martini** , which the menu calls the first drink Smit ever made at his original supper club. The Pickled Lemon Martini, a Ford’s Gin drink from the Dirty Sips menu, served chilled in a stemmed coupe There are six Pinoy-inspired cocktails on the list, at **S$20++** each. Edu’s creations include **Shelf No. 27** , which mixes Herradura Reposado with curry leaf, roasted pineapple and spicy agave. Arjay’s picks include **The Last Filipino Cocktail (Weng Weng 2.0)** , his take on the Filipino classic with gin, tequila, pickled beets, and an orange and bay leaf reduction. ## Chef Jaz Brings the Spread Food comes from Chef Jaz, who is cooking Filipino comfort food made to share. That phrase should decide your guest list. A sharing spread rewards a group of three or four far more than a solo seat at the counter. The Apple Highball, one of the Dirty Sips regulars, sits on the bar counter in front of the room’s painted mural ## Before You Book Reservations go through Dirty Supper’s TableCheck page. In a room this intimate, booking ahead is the smarter move than gambling on a walk-in. Getting there is easy: Tiong Bahru MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) station is the nearest stop, and there’s street and gantry parking nearby if you’re driving. If you’re building a whole week around guest bartenders, our guide to Bar Somma’s Day of the Dead guest cocktails adds a Mexican flavour to the mix. 🗓️ **Date:** Sunday, 1 November 2026 ⏰ **Time:** 12pm till late 📍 **Location:** Dirty Supper, 78 Moh Guan Terrace, #01-19, Singapore 162078 🍸 **Behind the bar:** Arjay Guarin (Dirty Sips) and Edu Zamora (Newport World Resorts, Manila) 🥃 **Spirits:** Ford’s Gin, Tequila Herradura and Woodford Reserve 💵 **Price:** S$20++ per cocktail 🍲 **In the kitchen:** Filipino comfort food made to share by Chef Jaz 🚇 **Nearest MRT:** Tiong Bahru 📝 **Reservations:** Via Dirty Supper on TableCheck A noon start at a bar that normally keeps Sundays dark, two Filipino bartenders sharing one counter and a table of Pinoy comfort food in the middle make a pretty strong case for rounding up your friends this weekend. Grab your table on Dirty Supper’s Pinoy Takeover booking page and turn 1 November into a long, lazy Sunday in Tiong Bahru! **Photos and Visuals courtesy of Dirty Supper.**
