The sequels are an anti-trilogy, TFA is about course correcting from the prequels, TLJ is about course correcting from TFA, and TROS is about course correcting from TLJ! Genuinely a baffling series of decisions
Since we’re doing Star Wars discourse, here’s my take: the sequels suck because they don’t actually try to tell a story.
The original series, both individually, and as an arc, tell a basic heroes journey story. It’s not anything particularly new, but it’s certainly a serviceable storyline to tell.
