What's growing on and living under this weather station? At the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Bocas del Toro, Panama, 10 ft tall metal columns create novel structure in a sandy seagrass bed, forming important habitat for feather duster worms, sponges, bivalves, and fish. #TME2025

Tropical fruits from around the world are grown at this farm on Isla Bastimentos near Bocas del Toro, Panama. Pineapple plants that produce fruit in 1-2 years, miracle berries that make lemons taste sweet, two types of passionfruits hanging from vines, and a starfruit that will ripen soon. #TME2025

Just visited Isla Pájaros, Panama's only nesting site for the Red-Billed Tropicbird. The rocky island serves as critical habitat for Tropicbirds and Brown Boobies. A quick boat ride from Isla Colón, it's an important conservation site and fascinating spot for anyone interested in seabirds! #TME2025

I published my whole Technology in Music Education course publicly this year. The big change was letting students choose what we covered after the 5 opening "Skills" weeks - and then letting them design their assessment even more than ever, too. humberstone.craft.me/TME2025

The Bocas del Toro Archipelago is home to the Strawberry Poison-Dart Frog. Each island hosts different color morphs- red frogs on Isla Bastimentos, yellow on Isla Colón, and orange, blue, and green on others. There are 30+ color variations. Only seen two so far, time to find the rest! #TME2025
