When Amazon Prime adapted PKD's The Man In the High Castle, there were rumblings online that said "hey, I wouldn't be that bad off" in a Nazis Win scenario.
But a huge problem with the misremembering of 1950s America is that The Rest of Us did a ton of the work to make it that shiny squeaky clean.

I so hope you enjoy River. I've got to say that TMItHC could not be more timely than now...it's quite too close to home in many places. I'm hoping it finds a larger audience that, like me, missed it from the original airing. I feel very strongly about the message. Sewell & many others are stellar👏

I had watched a few episodes of TMITHC. I remember reading the book decades ago. And yet another series I want to go back to watching.

I love Philip K. Dick and really liked the first season of TMITHC but I wouldn’t green-light it now as readily as I would have in 2015.

Gotta be said TMITHC does a good job of showing how a lot of people across the spectrum would be cool with being Nazis if it meant promotion and a nicer house. Now seems very prescient

Yes, I wrote a little short story in his memory for Chronicles of the Realms (my Shang Tsung is based on his appearance, voice, and some traits), it's so sad 😭 I need to continue TMITHC, I only watched S1, but yeah, he was fantastic there, too!

TMITHC is a little easier to stomach when it becomes obvious that it's science fiction/fantasy involving centrist & leftist "travelers" who can move between alternate universes at will vs. The Reich that's building a machine in an attempt to do the same. It's a great story, just breathe!
