I could live with one ( under emergency circumstances ) because TMX walked away but not bloody two of them. The second one is a travesty, especially since Carney said it would have to be private capital that funded it.
In essence, the first TMX being built should have PREVENTED the 2nd one imho!

The pipeline is along most of the existing TMX route - the best route with the least overall impacts.

All Canadians paid for it inc. Albertans. Any new O&G subsidies inc. 2nd TMX, carbon capture & the rest of it is ridiculous & wrong. Why did someone (for the sake of Albertans & all of Canada) say...you have to have wind/solar or no more O&G period to at least leverage a future AFTER oil?

Yep. Fully American ownership, using our pension dollars to lower their financial risk while we have no safety net for failure to get a return on investment. Seeing as TMX still hasn't turned a profit. This is theft. No other way to see it.

From what I have been seeing and hearing, not likely that this pipeline will be completed. BC Gov is repealing DRIPA and likely all projects will be heading to court. More likely is pipelines east. TMX can be further expanded and Asia oil demand is slated to plateau by 2030 as they electrify.

She was the Premier of Alberta, TMX had quit the pipeline not even half-completed....Notley had to convince Trudeau & his cabinet ( in spite of numerous enviromental legislation & new standards) that their support to complete this project was the right thing AT THE TIME. She was riding a thin line.
