My favorite case was the swearing in of Pima County Recorder (Arizona) Gabriella Cazares-Kelly, who is Tohono O'odham. She took the oath on a copy of Vine Deloria's book "Custer Died for Your Sins".

Remember that Native nations don't conform to US colonial borders. The Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) are split between NY and Canada. The Tohono O'odham and Yaqui are split between Arizona and Mexico.
