I busted in a room 1 time & found pledges blindfolded with rotten porkchops tied around their necks, listening to bells at crushing decibels on loop: literally torture. 2. The fact that doctors cannot participate without losing their license means that less qualified people do. And you end up with what happened here. Pharma companies do not want their medication used for this so the inventory they have sits and gets old and then doesn’t work. It’s literal torture.

I disagree with your sugar coating. If some presents themselves as willfully engaged in torture, they are clearly a bad person. No philosophical contortions about the nature of the victim required. Evil rests on the intent of the actor. An actor who proclaims they are engaged in torture is evil.

I can't predict what will prey on my mind. I'm fine with Blue Lights (love it) but a book I'm reading which has a brief period of torture of a spouse (spy novel) is in my mind. 😬 A case of imagination can be worse than what is shown on a screen.
