Definitely this. The globalized flat WTO/GATT/TPPA world is gone, but was also quite recent. A smaller GATT-ish free-ish trade of the liberal order served well enough for decades.

I'd be kinterested in Prof Jane Kelsey's views on this FTA. She was scathing o n the secrecy surrounding the TPPA, and then later, on IP rights and investor rights to sue sovereign govts for loss of profits.
She'd be the real expert in these matters.
