Studio 54 · Blondie Studio 54 is an unreleased song by Blondie and TV Mania with the production trio of two Duran Duran members, Nick Rhodes and Warren Cuccurullo, plus producer Anthony J. Resta. Released on: Unreleased 1997 Artist: Blondie About the song In 1997, Blondie began working together again for the first time in 15 years. Two tracks were recorded with TV Mania, the production trio of two Duran Duran members, Nick Rhodes and Warren Cuccurullo, plus producer Anthony J. Resta. Those two tracks were “Studio 54” and “Pop Trash Movie”, which were scheduled to be released on a Blondie compilation, entitled This Is Blondie. However, the project and the tracks were shelved as the four original members (Harry, Stein, Clem Burke and Jimmy Destri) embarked on sessions for what would become Blondie’s seventh studio album No Exit. Several Internet sites also state that “Studio 54” was released in Japan on a Blondie album called Deborah Is Rival in 1997 (there is no artwork to confirm this). The song is about the New York nightclub Studio 54, a venue both Blondie and Duran Duran have frequented. The nightclub reopened on 12th September 1981, with a guest list that included Andy Warhol.
