I can't believe the #govt is planning to charge everyone with a #TVLicence extra to watch currently free channels.
Taking the piss.

Puh-lease. Like the BBC ever considered #Scotland
It's one of the reasons so few Scottish folk pay the #TVLicence fee.

Justin Webb, on #R4Today: “… no Adrian Chiles, with a word about Saturday Night Live”

Chiles: “It’s Saturday Live”

Webb: “I’m sorry, I am far more interested in US TV than #BBCRadio, which pays way over the odds for me to do these promos”

Dear #BBC, I have a suggestion for #TVLicence savings,

Fuck the #BBC and their right-wing fetish.

We don't watch any live broadcast TV and can certainly live without iPlayer. Would far rather not pay into Reform's current marketing partner.

Heres a radical idea, how about we don't have a fee for it. How about we just scrap the BBC. It will also stop us funding people like Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris, Huw Edwards, Mark Page, Chris Denning and the rest of them. #bbc #tvlicence

tv licence detector vans in the uk
are largely a myth used as a deterrent, though some form of detection vehicle existed historically and the BBC claims they can still detect TV signals (even on non-TV devices like PCs/tablets for live streams), but their existence and effectiveness today are heavily debated, with enforcement relying more on  and  of TV purchases. The "vans" themselves are often unmarked and used by enforcement officers, but the idea of high-tech signal detection is mostly a scare tactic, with no prosecutions reportedly relying solely on van evidence.  TV Licence vans catching people across UK 'in Minutes.Thousands of people have been caught watching TV illegally. 19th jan 2026.https://www.mirror.co.uk/money/tv-licence-vans-catching-people-36572001 We have a range of detection tools at our disposal in our vans. Some aspects of the equipment have been developed in such secrecy that engineers working on specific detection methods work in isolation - so not even they know how the other detection methods work. This gives us the best chance of catching licence evaders.https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/faqs/FAQ73

📣 New Podcast! "bbc tv uk looses viewers rapidly" on @Spreaker #bbctv #plummet #tvlicence #tvlicenceuk #viewers
bbc tv uk looses viewers rapidly
The BBC's Ratings Crisis: Understanding the Decline in Viewership Introduction: The BBC, once a titan of television, is facing a ratings crisis that has sent shockwaves through the industry. With viewing figures hitting a record low this past Christmas, many are questioning the future of this iconic broadcaster. In this blog post, we'll delve into the reasons behind the BBC's plummeting ratings and explore the implications for the network and its audience. Main Content: 1. The Shocking Decline in Ratings This Christmas marked a significant downturn for the BBC, with critics labeling its programming as underwhelming. The network's Christmas Day offerings fell drastically compared to previous years, with the King's Speech from Westminster Abbey attracting only 4.6 million viewers. This figure is a stark contrast to the 12.3 million who tuned in for the Gavin and Stacey finale in 2024, highlighting a staggering decline in audience engagement. 2. A Year of Disappointment The ratings slump extends beyond just one holiday season. Notable programs like Strictly Come Dancing and Call the Midwife also experienced significant drops in viewership. The festive episode of the latter attracted just 2.8 million viewers, a sharp decline from double that number the previous year. This trend indicates a troubling pattern for the BBC, as audiences seem to be turning away from its programming. 3. The Factors Contributing to the Crisis Several factors appear to be contributing to the BBC's ratings crisis. Many viewers express frustration not only with the content but also with the value they receive for their TV license fee. With increasing numbers of people canceling their licenses, the BBC may be facing a crisis of trust and relevance. The fallout from controversial programming choices and public sentiment toward the organization has further exacerbated the situation. 4. The Future of BBC Programming To regain its audience, the BBC must reevaluate its approach to programming. There's a growing sentiment that viewers are craving fresh, engaging content that resonates with their interests. The call for the BBC to produce quality programming has never been more urgent. As Andy from the podcast suggests, a shift in strategy may be necessary to win back the audience.
