@deswalsh.bsky.social ok I gave it a fair attempt (it's hard to look at in game so I also added an option to add emissive baseline to the text to mimic light propogation. txaa does a lot to stabilize the effect but it's off here (I think)) effect breaks down at range (mip maps probably) good exercis

yeah but imo you get used to it and i find it far more clear than AA. FXAA/TXAA are both goop smeared on the screen, MSAA is context dependent, SSAA tanks your framerate but probably looks the best. end of the day rendering at higher res is best since everything post processing is just goop imo

I think TI is right, with the right technique to get rid of shimmer on dithered translucency, fxaa or smaa will be far more performant than txaa

I recommend setting it to MSAA since it smooths the edges without blurring the fine details like TXAA

3 was definitely on PC because I played it on windows. I think Nvidia bundled it with various GFX cards to show off the fancy new TXAA stuff, now I think about it.
Unusually my fave was the Victorian London AC: Syndicate, which I'm pretty sure got the worst ratings & sales of the entire series😅
