New clip: Jeezy on the Texas governor race, Texans are getting two very different versions of "I can make living here cheaper." His question for Chuck: after a decade of Greg Abbott, is this a referendum on him, or a choice between two economic visions? #PardonThePolitics #TXGov #BlackSky

Dems wonder where the national $ is for TX Governor's race? Despite being outspent 12 to 1 over the last 4 weeks, Gina Hinojosa remains within striking distance of pulling off 1 of the greatest political upsets. 6 members of the U.S. House from TX are among those asking for $10 million. #TXgov

Damn is Hinojosa winning txgov not enough of a hot take anymore

Depending on the race, TXGOV and IASEN have some wild swings from poll to poll. And no one notices cause Cooper leads comfortably, but even NCSEN has some big differences.

Abbott makes a killing in my Texas county just another attempt in his "make my statewide prosecutor dream" a reality.

Shocking no one, the county and district attorneys don't seem thrilled.

Not yet but directionally things are going the right way. But no, I agree, and Blexas is going to be brief and limited. But who knows what can happen in a few years. My ideal scenario is TxGov and a legislative majority to do some brutal redistricting, but that's still pretty much fantasy territory.

Very interesting to see this #TXGOV / #TXSEN poll asking a question on Flock surveillance cameras, which, even in TX, draw broad opposition across every demographic except for self-ID GOP, of whom only a slim majority (53%) approve.

Note: 3/4 of young voters (!) oppose.

Honestly the Abbott result makes me more skeptical than hopeful, just seems too unfathomable to actually win TXgov

I have no idea what to make of the TXGov race

My gut tells me that Hinojosa will lose about 52-46 or something

But what's weird is I've seen literally, actually ZERO Abbott yard signs in DFW

Of the GOPers, I've seen a fair share of Paxton, Meyer, Van Duyne, others but no Abbott ones
Mason-Dixon & Telemundo out with a new poll in TX this morning.

They have Abbott +8 and Talarico +3

I will say, the questions seem pretty Conservative but overall, feels about right.

In DDHQ's latest podcast, we looked at our new governors forecast!

Texas remains a red-leaning state even though #TXSen is a toss-up. That's required a blue environment + weak candidate (Paxton). But in #TXGov, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has about a 3 in 4 shot of winning reelection.

Adding intrigue, Walz picked a superb and S tier running mate in the mold of Rob Sand’s running mate in neighboring IA (a local farmer from a deep red county) that I think will help her appeal to those hurting rural areas that any path to victory requires.

Excuse me?

Is this man who is making no sense whatsoever actually the Attorney General of Texas - AND running for TxGov?

What the heck law school gave HIM a law degree?
Ken Paxton when asked by a Fox host about his 3 primary residences (out of his 15 homes). This should clear it up!

“So, when we bought a new house, we moved our primary residence to – to a house. So that was both were dictated by the Constitution, and then they changed the Constitution."

Same districts from the same pollster, but for #TXGov. These swings from 2024 (15-21 points left) if accurate and replicated statewide would result in a narrower, but still Hinojosa win.

#TXGov is by far the biggest sleeper on the governor map and numbers and swings like this is exactly why
Texas - Governor Polling:

TX-15 - (Trump +18)
🔵Hinojosa: 47%
🔴Abbott: 44%*

TX-28 - (Trump +11)
🔵Hinojosa: 48%
🔴Abbott: 44%*

TX-34 - (Trump +11)
🔵Hinojosa: 53%
🔴Abbott: 45%*

Well this confirms that Greg Abbott - who last year proclaimed that Texas was going to be the 'epicenter of AI development' after announcing a $40 billion investment by Google - is indeed afraid that data centers might cost him his re-election for #TXGov.
