U Václava, Brno 🇨🇿 2nd visit. Černá Pole neighbourhood bar. Homage to the likes of Blàhovky. Wainscoting, cream walls and net curtains. Tapster, the Výčepni is almost a God. Around here to be known as a good tapster is to be widely respected around town. Imagine that, Brits 🍻👍

Pivnice 8, Brno 🇨🇿 3rd visit. Opposite Čolka. Kamenice lagers and sour beer imports here. It's a classic half step basement bar, but this is tighter, almost like one you'd find in Žižkov. Prices are better and the beer is singing. Tapster is a friendly fellow. Life is good 🍻👍

U Zlaté Hrušky, Brno 🇨🇿 1st visit. The Golden Pear. Lost in time neighbourhood pub in Veveří with an ailing tapster and similar regulars. Even the sprightly looking guy who came in wearing cap and started talking to me in English was 62. Bohém from Krušovice disappointing although cheap at 45kc 👍🍻

PS: I arrived there with a friend at opening o'clock. We attempted to leave at 9ish. The tapster was having none of it and suggested we stay until closing time - he didn't have to insist.
