Started listening to the audiobook of @aptshadow.bsky.social ‘s Elder Race last night while I was feeding my spiders, which feels appropriate, considering that I became familiar with his work through the Children of Time series.

On the left is Nandi II, my beautiful Heterothele villosella, and on the right is Mabel Pines, my fussy Aphonopelma chalcodes who has never molted in my care and hates everything very slowly.

It was #TarantulaTuesday a few days ago, and I cannot possibly explain the degree to which I am emotionally exhausted from the past week.

Delayed posts from #TarantulaTuesday because I got sidetracked.

I went to feed Catherine and her babies and found them all huddled up in standby mode. This makes my heart hurt, it’s so cute.

I’m astonished at his coloration! He was purple and orange his whole life, and now I get green?? And look at the size of those hooks! What a monster!
