In 30 years working in multiple governments of all different persuasions and abilities, the TasGov political and administration systems were the most difficult to work with with such heavily entrenched resistance to any form of change and innovation - risk aversion was there but it was fear of risk!

When you put it like that, TasGov does sound a bit irrational.

#MartinBryant Case #PortArthur - Clearly the Martins owned many firearms and alot of ammunition. DNA on the knife and the jumper was never matched to Martin Bryant, the jumper was labelled "irrelevant". Perpetual Trustees and TASgov absorbed properties for the stock market. Minter Ellison hits.

Some groups continue to use extreme examples to seek blanket bans on trans women, this time in Tasmanian women’s prison.

The current TasGov case-by-case approach is a sensible one that protects all women. Equality Tasmania has asked the Government to maintain and develop it.

The TasGov budget allocation for the first year of its soon-to-be-released LGBTIQA+ Action Plan is $342,000, not $202,000 as stated in the media release linked here. The total of new LGBTIQA+ allocations in the 2025/26 State Budget is $492,000. ymlp.com/zk6hIm

Want to know how bad the TasGov conversion bill is?

The Australian Christian Lobby said "the exclusions inserted would help protect parents"

The anti-trans Free Speech Alliance is "pleased that the government had taken a nuanced approach".

Scrap the bill. www.examiner.com.au/story/845900...

TasGov has refused redress to those convicted under fmr anti-gay and anti-trans laws, despite support for this reform from an independent review, TasCOSS, and the C'ty Legal Services. Equality Tas will do all it can to ensure victims receive justice. ymlp.com/z0oH5H

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard for Yes and Indigenous leaders who inspired us to believe in change. Tasmania’s Yes vote was higher than the national average and equal second among the states. I hope that encourages TasGov to move forward with its plans for truth-telling and a treaty.
