Game Releases • Repixture 3.21.0 released!
Finally! After a TON of work, I am very happy to present to you the …
Version 3.21.0 Release!
(nicknamed: “An EFFECTive Update”)
Highlights
**Effects and juices**
You can now drink some unique **juices**. Either make them yourself, or ask a tavernkeeper. Juices give you no saturation, but instead grant you unique short-timed effects that boost you.
For example, the Apple Juice makes you walk, swim and climb fast.
The Moon Juice is hard to get, but drinking it gives you the unique “Ninja” effect: You silence your footsteps and many (but not all) block interactions and will be harder to detect for players and mobs. Other players will no longer see your nametag, health or position on the map.
Other juice effects include Jump Boost, Wave Breaker, Breathing and Glow (see changelog).
**Flint tools**
The**flint tools** are a new tier of tools (pickaxe, shovel, etc.) that sit between stone and wrought iron. This gives an interesting alternative method to progress through the tool levels, but finding flint is of course a little harder.
**Rotation stick**
The new **rotation stick** is Repixture’s simple way to rotate blocks. I tried to make rotation as simple as possible, and less confusing than in Minetest Game: Punching rotates around the vertical axis, and Placing rotates around the horizontal axis. Another difference from Minetest Game is that blocks are NOT rotatable by default. Of course, all the relevant blocks in Repixture are compatible with this tool.
**Placeable items**
Many items are now placeable as blocks: Bread, sticks, flints, pearls, paper, you name it. This can either be used as an "emergency" kind of storage, or as decoration. And I really like this feature as it allows many new room decorations. :-)
Not everything is placeable yet, especially tools. I plan to make everything placeable in future releases.
**New building blocks**
A few new building blocks have arrived:
The **cushion** has the best fall damage protection in the game, at a whopping 68% fall damage reduction. At this level, you can fall up to 50 blocks deep without armor and still take no damage. It can also be painted. But it requires quite a few advanced items to craft.
The new "**wattle and daub** " blocks combine dirt, sand and straw in solid blocks. They come in 3 "reinforced" variants (seen in screenshot), are paintable and allow to construct some very interesting farm or rural houses. These blocks are inspired by the "half-timer" building style of the real world.
