The Comeback of the Billionaire Tax and Lessons for the November Election - It will not even mean that the rich are paying their fair share of taxes—just a fairer share. @dougporter506 dougporter.substack.com/p/the-comeba... #Tax_the_Rich
The Comeback of the Billionaire Tax and Lessons for the November Election
"[A]s promising as all this movement may be for progressive tax advocates in the Golden State, the greater lesson may be in what it portends for messaging strategies more broadly in the midterm[s]..."

If you have enough money that you can blow $100,000,000 on avoiding taxes, you have enough money to pay $100,000,000 *on* taxes that will help your fellow citizens, you self-centered prick.

Landlord, Michael E Heijer accidentally CCed the entire Seattle city council, asking fellow landlords to testify against rental junk fee banning. Said renters who testified in favor of banning junk fees were the “unemployed left trying to stick it to the man.”

Still think this isn’t a class war?

Defund was the floor.
Each of the eight elected Harris County constables will be paid $305,000 next year -- bringing their salaries to higher than that of the U.S. vice president.

"New Yorkers will flee ..."

"Massachusetts citizens will flee ..."

"Californians will flee ..."

Sure, sure. Any day now, sure.
WaPo making same claim that’s been disproven again & again. Who do they imagine these people are, willing to pay the price of abandoning home, friends, lives they’ve built. “Sorry, kids, we’re leaving the only home you’ve ever known & all our friends to pay 7% state tax instead of 8%.”

OHIO!!

BREAKING: An Ohio crowd just booed Vivek Ramaswamy right off the stage after he told working families that people in his generation have already made it and are “gonna be fine.” The room was not about to let a multimillionaire brag to their faces,

I used to be a Social Security trustee.

The real reason the program is in trouble has nothing to do with the postwar baby boom or increasing life expectancy.

It's because of widening inequality. Watch.

I like that phrase: It's the many vs. the money
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden? $30 million.

The amount special interests have spent against @abdulelsayed.bsky.social in the Michigan Senate race? $60 MILLION.

Twice as much to try and buy one Senate seat.

It’s the many vs. the money.

Vote for Abdul.

Corporate spending on elections has already topped $500 million this year.

That's one third of the $1.58 billion in total that corporations have spent since Citizens United in 2010.

Hawaii and Montana both have plans to neutralize this disastrous SCOTUS ruling.

Other states must get on board.
