I’m sorry all I do is yap.
But also I’m not.
TCGF book 3 sucked shit to read and nearly killed me but book 4 is so good and it’s been like 20 pages
This is still better than MDZS. I don’t even know what to do with my copies of it because I’m not reading it that’s for sure 💀💀💀

I get inspo from multiple places, esp if I'm working from multiple characters + want to emulate their arcs.
For my MC Ari, I took from: Finn from The Force Awakens, Xe Lian from TCGF, Jean Valjean from Les Mis, Spencer Reid from CM and Milo Thatch from Atlantis (amongst many other places).

How do I explain to non-danmei/BL lovers that the hottest moment in #tcgf was never the Qiandeng Temple or the coffin or the underwater scenes but the VERY brief moment we jump out of XL's pov in the Cave of 10,000 statues where we realize for the first time JUST HOW powerful and terrifying HC is

If you asked me a year ago what danmei would inspire me for my own work I would not have said Erha and TCGF but here I am because I am deeply upset thinking about how Sojimaru will become a lonely god one day, desperate to stay alive to meet Ryoma again

I genuinely do not understand how this was mxtx’s biggest work of the three she has. It has 2 completed shows, a comic and several translations. Whoever did the English translation for it genuinely made it horrible to read. TCGF has been such a better experience, even with the long flashbacks sofar

I haven't watched the TCGF shorts yet, because I am really bummed out they're not gonna end up doing the Blackwater Arc as a full season. The animation style was cute and I liked the pacing, it was a really nice adaptation.

Showed my mom the tcgf donghua and she was pretty interested!! I wasn't sure how well it would hold up without having read the book but she kind of got it spot on saying it was kind of funny but also kind of sad

the teaser for the last tcgf donghua short film showing the very end of the novel feels very nail in the coffin for any full continuation of the series
like yeah it's done after this. which tbh i had already expected as much for a long time, but showing so much of the ending stuff feels definitive

My wife was like “oh you’re just as far as I am in my book!” Meanwhile that was volume 2 for them that they purchased the day before they made that comment and I’m on the last two chapters of TCGF vol 2 and can’t even progress because my job is either demanding or boring and rn it’s demanding

So guess who gets vol 3 of their book and if they finish it in a day again they get to wait until November :)))
And guess who still needs to finish MDZS, TCGF AND ERHA :)))

To be honest, TCGF and MDZS are both two of the first gay representation pieces that I got into as a high schooler because they got animated. So I did watch it (I don't know if in its entirety) a long time ago. But I could read it now as an adult. 🙂
