In today's grumpy old woman post, I built this small unit to house my microwave with all my teamaking stuff on top, freeing up valuable bench space

It's 2mm too tall, meaning the adjacent cupboard door can't open. Grr 😠

This kerfuffle was hilarious:

…That said, it appears the Embassy might not be taking itself too seriously, with the statement concluding: “The US Embassy will continue to make tea in the proper way — by microwaving it.”

This prompted the UK govt post : “... Tea can only be made using a kettle.” 😂

In addition to adding salt—she writes that sodium helps to block a chemical reaction that makes tea taste bitter— Michelle Francl, a professor of chemistry at Bryn Mawr College, also tells tea drinkers to steep their tea quickly by dunking and squeezing the bags to "reduce sour-tasting tannins.”

Lol. I do not put as much effort into my teamaking. As long as it's got bergamot, I am good. xD Tho I have a favorite anecdote: my Mom used to visit UK with a friend and their family. And she used to bring back a "London Cuppa" brand of black tea. It was so strong, a single bag would be too much!

They work as a burlesque dancer and professional escort at the Eterna City Burlesque Theatre, and use the money to fuel their passion for herbalism and teamaking, and eventually hope to build a teahouse in Floaroma Town.

When not working, they volunteer at a local community garden!

Sure!

• teamaking in Kyoto, especially Uji — also a great temple and museum, Byodo-in

• live artisan kabazaiku cherry-bark ornamental work in Kakunodate — also stunning cherry blossoms, autumn leaves and samurai houses

• knifemaking in Sakai, south of Osaka

• not your guy for climbing, sorry!
