I never knew anything about #TealPumpkinProject until I had a child later in life and he was diagnosed with food allergies. Going door to door on Halloween was very much… terrifying. And very sad: bsky.app/profile/egra...

We did the Halloween thing & when he was super little I just picked out the candy. But then, my toddler was a pre schooler who could walk- (I know, they say it’s fast - they lie - it’s hyper drive… alas) - so my kid is now walking to doors and REJECTING CANDY. And adults are like WTAF?

My go-to these days is handing out glow sticks, as they're good for all ages and I've always enjoyed them myself.
However, the best treat I ever received as a kid was a mini TY beanie ghost. That's like getting a full-size candy bar, except I still have it today! 👻
