Jimmy loses himself in their movements, loses himself in the moment that he shares with Tango—in the tranquility and simplicity of it all. Looking at his soulmate’s bowed head and reminiscing on how they got here and hot they found each other. The only thing that brings him back is Tango’s laugh as the shorter male looks up and meets his eyes.

Jimmy nervously runs his left hand down his face, anxiously taps his right foot against the worn floorboards, and recalls that moment. The man wordlessly handed him a business card with a phone number and an address. Jimmy was about to decline whatever deal they wanted to make but was interrupted. The man came to him with an opportunity—a job offer if he accepts. Jimmy accepted.

It’s incredible, really. Despite trying, everyone that Jimmy doesn’t want to know seems to know. The one person he wants nothing more in the world than to tell doesn’t- his crush on Tango, who is currently asleep on the couch and inside the apartment that he is standing in front of. With a mix of their Christmas presents packed in the back of his car, it looks like they’re already a couple. That thought scares Jimmy more than he’d like to admit.

Tango tries to focus on how the other person looks at this moment; he would love nothing more than to be able to meet his gaze, but all he can think about is Jimmy’s cold, limp body pulled tightly against his warm one. Jimmy’s skin flashes to a sickly pale color, and suddenly, he is covered head-to-toe in that purple fungus stuff. Tango blinks to try and wash the images away.

Jimmy swipes his right thumb across Tango's cheek, and the blaze hybrid tightens his grip on the avian's hips again, tracing circles on the front of his stomach with his thumbs. Jimmy uses his left hand to tuck Tango's hair behind his ear, "I love you so much." Tango's tail thumps behind him, and now that the appendage has made its presence known, he wraps it around Jimmy's right wrist. "I love you too." Or: just a thousand words of ranchers kissing

(In Character) Do you think he’d feel severe guilt if Tango got out of the series first? He broke his curse when his SIBLING died before him, and now his PARTNER might? Do you think the “curse” was broken in order to punish him further?

The painting he made the other day while Sausage taught him how to paint is sitting on an easel. He had nothing in mind when he started, but the colors and strokes eventually turned into the ranch. Running a finger along the edge of the roof, Jimmy smiles fondly. No matter what it seems, he always goes back there.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮: Enchanting
𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀: 630
“No.” Tango surprises himself with how quickly he answers and jumps to an explanation before he sounds like he’s taking his anger out on his partner. “If I don’t try it, I’ll never learn.” The two lovers sit silently for a moment, and Tango enjoys his time away from that stupid book more than he would like to admit. However, he knows the longer he lets Jimmy’s hands work their magic on his body, the less likely he’d go back to enchanting. “What’s enchanting feel like? I try to relate it to how I use my fire, but it seems like it just explodificates all in my face rather than do what I want.”

Tango flips a page in the storybook he has sitting in his lap and places his finger under the following line, “The Vex are-“ “Ah, Tango…” Jimmy whispers, interrupting the story. “They’re already asleep.” Tango looks down to his right and sees their daughter, Revenge, fast asleep with their Ravager plush tucked underneath their chin. “So she is.”

The avian closes his eyes for a moment, not saying anything. Of course, he would go to the same school and class and now share a living space with the guy he made his enemy. “I’m Tango! Of the Tek variety, I think we will have a great year together.” “Yippee.” Jimmy cheers unenthusiastically under his breath and hides his head in his arms on his desk—their shared desk. This is going to be the worst year of his life.

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀: 163
The blaze hybrid snaps back to the present when his vision floods with Jimmy’s smiling face. He’s saying something to him, but Tango focuses on the pair of ears twitching occasionally on top of his head. Jimmy is probably thanking him for taking all those hearts of damage for his task, and even if the secret keeper rewards those who have completed their objective, Tango thinks Jimmy deserves a bit more.

Jimmy was inside Ravenger Records, shuffling through a stack of CDs when he heard a squawk followed by a comically loud thud a few stores down. Hand ready on the handle of his bat, Jimmy crept low on the floor and headed towards the front door, where he waited. When the footsteps got close enough, he rounded the corner and swung. That was how Jimmy met an eccentric man named Tango Tek.

Tango closes his red eyes and sighs. He’s probably just being paranoid because of the supernatural cases rising in the city just a few miles from his manor. He checks the grandfather clock once more, and the second it passes Jimmy’s normal arrival time, he feels something in the air shift. Goosebumps form all over his arms, and a painful chill shoots down his spine. Danger, it screams, and that’s enough for Tango to bolt out the door at record speed and follow the path he knows Jimmy takes to get to him every time. The rocks of his driveway dig into his feet, and he winces, making a mental note to get thicker boots. A shiver wracks his body, screaming with fear and panic this time.

He thinks of beautiful gold shining in front of him, sunlight pushing through closed blinds, and honey so sweet it makes your teeth rot with a simple thought. It’s smiling at him with a crazed look that he knows mirrors his own, high on adrenaline and in love with the person under his blade. He thinks of exploding for him, he thinks of killing for him, he thinks of dying for him. He thinks of a cooked meal getting cold, a missing soulmate, and invisible claws across his eyes. He thinks of 4 cows and warm words that follow, a beautiful song unique to them, solid arms, and a teary reunion. Or: Ranchers being gay in MCC and I blacked out.

There have only been a few occasions when Tango could see Jimmy look like he was at peace. In Double Life, he caught the avian asleep in the stables, surrounded by the comfort of the animals that reminded him of home. Or maybe they just wanted more of the wheat he had brought them. Tango feels like the animals liked Jimmy more than they liked him. Tango could only count the times that happened on one hand.
