Been thinking about the recent Ofsted report into RE which says RE often fails to equip students to live in a complex world & engage in a multi religious & multi secular society. Its probably more useful to look at the quality of our whole curriculum than one off lessons on radicalisation. #TeamReUk
Teaching children to be critical readers is in the news again. Online radicalisation of children is a major issue and it would be helpful if there were quick shortcuts to fixing this, but probably a broad curriculum is our most powerful tool in achieving this.

RE is often the subject that has the least amount of time but is expected to fix society’s problems. I suspect most members of #TeamReUK have been thinking about the conversations we will be having in our classrooms in September. But we must remember we are not the only subject with a role to play.
My concern is schools have been trying to do this for decades. This is only meaningful if it moves beyond saying to do it and towards guidance on how to do it better.
"Get schools to teach X" can end up being a useful way of avoiding meaningful societal change.

RE is often the subject that has the least amount of time but is expected to fix society’s problems. I suspect most members of #TeamReUK have been thinking about the conversations we will be having in our classrooms in September. But we must remember we are not the only subject with a role to play.

I love this. I'm using it in a yr11 ethics unit (AQA B Theme A) so that students can become more aware of the complexity of how they and others come to have a variety of views on the issues we will explore.

See I think this could be better if people just include #teamreuk in their tweets and it is automatically included somewhere. Current X account requires manual RTing… which I know I have not been great at. Will have a look! Did you see list I started? Is that useful?

I was happy to move cos my X feed was annoying - too many adverts and weirdness.Felt Musk was stoking the fire and didn't want to support that.Saw lots of #TeamREUK move here and followed! 🐑
