Some folks see me as an old Toonami head, but there was something special about Anime Unleashed on TechTV back in the day. I particularly loved Serial Experiment Lain, Trigun, and ROD: The Series. So many bangers.

And to this day, I still hate what G4 did to TechTV.
Hi everyone, it's new article day. 🥰

This week, we have an article by Brian Stremick that explores the rise and fall of TechTV's Anime Unleashed block, which remains a fond memory for many despite not having the same mindshare as, say, Toonami. It's a great read and we hope you enjoy it.

The Rise and Fall of Anime Unleashed
All that’s left of Anime Unleashed is the fond memories of its devotees and a few scattered pages that can be found using the Wayback Machine. The shows that aired, or at least some of them, can still be found on various streaming sites or on DVD and Blu-ray.

Dude was an asshole at TechTV (I was an intern) and looks like nothing’s changed. Except for him being on TV - pretty pathetic.

TechTV message boards, specifically The Extended Play board. It's how I met northernlion!
Okay, let's get nostalgic

What was the VERY FIRST online platform that you became addicted to posting on?????

Was watching some old TechTV while gathering my media clips and they used this font for this commercial for Lord of the Rings

downloaded a few dozen pre-G4 episodes of The Screen Savers and other TechTV shows. I was the most obnoxious 12 year old in history, watching this and reading Wired Magazine

I worked with some ex-techTV people in the late 2000s and the whisper vibes around this dude were rancid.

I wish there was a way to take a vacation in a time period so I can spend the rest of the evening kicking back and watching TechTV like it's the year 2000 ;_;

That was the last field shoot in S.F. before the G4 obliteration of TechTv. It was a wild shoot.
Am immediately reminded of your interview with New Jack and the Backyard wrestlers. Was hilarious TV.

and while that's hard to convey, it's NOT hard to show you

go out onto the internet, look on the Internet Archive, or on YouTube, or on the torrent sites, and find a show called "The Screen Savers". you may need to search instead for "zdtv" or "techtv" to find it

Those other three are awesome. Me, I’m just in denial about my hair loss. .

I didn’t launch with the network, though. Didn’t join until 2004 when they bought TechTv.
Hey @adamsessler.bsky.social I don't know how much it means to you these days but I seen this come up ...A lot of good folks worked there including you.

dril killed Adam sessler like G4 killed techTV (yes I’m still bitter)

TechTv, G4, Rev3 and Sad New G4; that’s all I experienced.

I stated my own company and cosplaying as a corporation was more
Important to my partners than actually succeeding.
It feels like that’s all America is. I have six bosses and they’re all infinitely more worried about bickering over power than actually doing anything productive ☠️ Not one genuine leader to be seen. Bunch of toddlers fighting for teachers attention in pre-school is what corporate America is like 🙄

Remember when The Screen Savers on TechTV ran this poll in 2002?

G4 was not the golden age.

TechTV / ZDTv from 1998 - 2003 was.
