Tech Advisor’s Best of IFA 2026 Awards
It’s September, or ‘Techtember’, and that means IFA 2026 is here: the huge tech show in Berlin where boatloads of new products make their debut.
Arriving neatly before Apple unveils the iPhone 18 series and likely the foldable iPhone Ultra next week, rival tech brands from around the world have gathered in Berlin to show off their latest wares.
It’s a really diverse event with everything from new phones to smartwatches to laptops to humanoids to see. 2026 is a particularly interesting year for IFA as it’s the first time Xiaomi has exhibited.
IFA 2026 opens its doors to the public today, 4 September, but announcements have mostly been made ahead of time to get the news out. As usual, we’ve rounded up our favourite new devices from the show and will add to the list if anything else that’s noteworthy is announced in the coming days.
Note that not every device here was announced on the show floor itself, as many brands hold separate events in Berlin, but this is a mere technicality.
## Xiaomi 18 Fold
Xiaomi
Xiaomi’s first-ever passport-style foldable technically doesn’t launch until next week, but that hasn’t stopped the company showing it off at IFA.
Just like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (and probably iPhone Ultra), it features a shorter, wider 5.38-inch cover screen than book-style devices, which opens to reveal a more tablet-esque 7.58-inch internal panel.
The only other spec we know about hints at its availability. The 18 Fold will be powered by Xiaomi’s own XRing 03 chipset, rather than anything from Qualcomm or MediaTek.
That means it’s almost certainly set to remain a China-exclusive rather than getting a global launch. But with that stunning red finish, we hope it comes to the UK and Europe at some point.

## Motorola Moto Watch Ultra
Motorola
With the launch of the Moto Watch Ultra, it’s great to see Motorola finally get serious about smartwatches again. After all, it was one of the pioneers back in the day, despite the ‘flat tyre’ debacle.
The Ultra is the firm’s move back to the flagship Wear OS market and the timing is excellent, seeing as OnePlus just pulled out. For the same price as the Pixel Watch 5, you get a lot for your money, including built-in LTE connectivity, dual-band GPS, a bright 1.5-inch OLED screen and Google Pay.
There’s even Google Gemini as well as Motorola’s own Qira assistant, plus fitness tracking in collaboration with Polar. The one thing we’re worried about is the old Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset, but we’ll see if that’s a problem when we review it.
* **Price:** £369/$TBC

## Huawei MatePad Pro 12-inch
Huawei
Tablets tend to keep gen-on-gen design upgrades to a minimum, but no-one told Huawei!
Its new 12-inch MatePad Pro has shaved nearly 1mm off the chassis, bringing it down to a razor-thin 4.7mm. That’s significantly slimmer than Apple’s 5.1mm iPad Pro, and the joint-thinnest mainstream tablet ever.
The weight has also dropped significantly, meaning it’s now just 454g. Not bad for a premium tablet with an expansive 12-inch matte-coated OLED display.
Of course, the main compromise for consumers in the West is the lack of Google Mobile Services (GMS), but you probably knew that anyway.
The MatePad Pro 12-inch will be available in the UK, but we have to await further details.

## Dyson CameraJet
Dyson
Dyson only launches products when it has something new to offer in terms of engineering design. The brand’s first electric toothbrush is no exception. It’s a sonic model with inbuilt water jet cleaning. Being Dyson, however, the jet is automatic, thanks to an AI-controlled camera embedded in the brush handle.
As you’re brushing, the camera targets gaps between your teeth, where plaque is likely to form, with a blast from the water jet. Dyson calls this technology “gap optical targeting” and it scans 28 images per second to get the timing right.
Just brushing? It oscillates at 240 times per minute, and Dyson has even engineered an anti-stall brushing movement and redesigned the brush head for an effective clean. Stay tuned for a full review soon.
* **Price:** £419.99/$499.99

## Circular Ring 3 series
Circular
Smart rings are fairly samey across the board, with slightly different designs, but Circular has really stood out with the new Ring 3 series.
Both the Slim and Pro models come with NFC for contactless payments and a vibration motor for a range of different alerts and alarms. You won’t find these on even the latest Oura Ring 5 and the Ring 3 Pro even adds blood pressure tracking.
They come in gold, rose gold, silver, and black, starting at 5.9mm wide and 2.35mm thick for the Slim model, along with 50m waterproofing, a titanium build and up to 12-days battery life. What we don’t know yet is how much they will cost or when they will go on sale.

* **Release date:** TBC (expected early 2027)

## TCL P80 Ultra
TCL
The P80 Ultra is a significant milestone for TCL. It’s the first time the company has brought its ‘Nxtpaper’ eye comfort technology to an OLED panel – previous iterations have relied on LCD instead.
In theory, this means you get the best of both worlds: a rich, vibrant 6.83-inch OLED panel that still looks like paper, minimising glare and making it easier on your eyes.
A dedicated hardware switch toggles on ‘Max Ink Mode’, which offers a more stripped-back, e-reader-esque monochrome experience for distraction-free reading. TCL says it’ll allow you to get a full week of battery life from the 5800mAh cell.
Specs elsewhere are promising, too, with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Elite chipset, 50Mp main and 3x telephoto cameras, and boosted 45W charging.

## Luna Band
Luna Band
It was announced earlier in the year, but IFA 2026 marks the long-awaited global launch for the Luna Band.
The screenless fitness tracker is here to rival the likes of the Fitbit Air and Garmin Cirqa. It does this with an affordable price and the big advantage of no monthly subscription required.
It comes in three colours and takes a different approach to fitness and health tracking with a more schedule-based system, aiming to help you decide when to exercise and meditate.
We’ve got our hands on one, so stay tuned for a full review soon.
* **Price:** £129/$149
* **Release date:** 4 September

## Tecno Bezelless Concept Phone
Tecno
Tecno’s ‘Bezelless’ concept phone is exactly what it sounds like. Sort of.
It’s been years since most of us cared about the tiny black border around the edge of our phone, but Tecno clearly set its sights on eliminating it. While just a concept, the bezel is basically invisible, making for an interruption-free experience (aside from the punch-hole selfie camera).
However, rather than actually eliminate it, Tecno has technically just hidden the bezel behind the edge of the display. There’s still a tiny edge of the 6.78-inch, 144Hz OLED screen that won’t respond to touch input, while the frame is more noticeable to give you something to hold onto.
Will a bezelless phone like this ever come to market? That remains to be seen, but Tecno has at least shown that it’s possible.

## Sonos Ace Ultra
Sonos
Everyone needs noise cancelling headphones. Whether they are for travel, focusing on work or just drowning out the sound of a busy city, and Sonos went straight up there with the best with the original Ace.
Now, two years later, they’ve gone Ultra. The Sonos Ace Ultra might look almost identical to the original model apart from some new colours (Agave and Sand), but bring key improvements such as better ANC for key frequencies (heating and air conditioning and aeroplane engines) as well as properly integrating into the Sonos system.
The Ace Ultra also offer five extra hours of battery life at 35 hours (with ANC on), plus features like adaptive EQ and aptX Adaptive Lossless over Bluetooth. Watch out, Sony, Bose et al.

## Ninja Crispi Microwave
Ninja
Ninja’s latest innovation is a two-in-one appliance that solves a number of common kitchen problems. The Crispi Microwave combines the quick-heating power of a microwave with Ninja’s Crispi air frying (ie convection) technology in an appliance you can use for everything from defrosting to roasting. When cooking, you can choose between microwave, air fryer or fusion mode. Fusion mode is a dual-stage process that’ll let you heat through then crisp up prepared or leftover food.
It’s a flatbed model, which means no wasted space on a turntable. Best of all, if you have both a microwave and an air fryer in your kitchen, it’ll replace them both for a more streamlined kitchen counter.

## Ugreen MagFlow Pro
Ugreen
Admittedly, power banks are not the most exciting or sexy piece of tech. However, Ugreen has made one of the most interesting power banks we’ve seen in years.
The MagFlow Pro is a 10,000mAh magnetic power bank with Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W as well as 45W wired charging. None of that is particularly outstanding, but it comes with liquid cooling.
Its CryoPulse system “combines an active micro-pump, VC copper heat-spreading foil and a separated internal layout to circulate coolant directly at the heat source.”
This should keep everything a lot cooler (up to 10C) and more efficient when charging your phone, but as a bonus, the liquid cooling is built into the design in a way you can actually see it and it looks like The Matrix. Literally so cool.
